It’s hard to pass up a Cold Stone Creamery- their totally customizable, indulgent sundaes have become a dessert mainstay since the brand’s founding in 1988. Cold Stone servers mix butterfat ice cream with specialty toppings right in front of customers.
Military members and veterans may be eligible for a discount at some Cold Stone locations, but it’s not a universal policy. Here’s how it works.
Does Cold Stone Creamery Have a Military Discount?
Kahala Brands’ Cold Stone Creamery chain of ice cream parlors does not offer a corporate-level military discount. That’s because franchise owners own and operate every Cold Stone Creamery location, according to the Cold Stone Creamery website.
Per company policy, every franchise owner is allowed to set their own policies, including discounts, sales and promotions. Some locations may offer year-round military discounts or Veterans Day promotions, such as a free scoop of ice cream.
Some have year-round discounts- there are at least a few locations offering a 10% discount- and quite a few offer a discount or even a free scoop on Veterans Day.
Contact your local Cold Stone Creamery to find out if they have a military or veteran discount.
Does the Veterans Advantage Discount Work at Cold Stone Creamery?
The popular Veterans Advantage program, which advertises discounts for military members in exchange for a membership fee, states on its website that Veterans Advantage members may be entitled to a 10% discount at Cold Stone Creamery, while noting that “this military offer is not from a company in our Veterans Advantage Partner Coalition.”
While some Cold Stone Creamery locations may accept a Veterans Advantage card as proof of military member or veteran status, there is no relationship between Cold Stone Creamery and Veterans Advantage.
“We cannot guarantee (the discount’s) availability,” Veterans Advantage said. “The company’s military discount varies by location.”
We contacted several different Cold Stone locations, and none of them offered military discounts or offered a discount for customers presenting Veterans Advantage cards.
The Military Discount Rate at Cold Stone Creamery
Every Cold Stone Creamery store is an individual franchise and free to set their own policy. In a survey of Cold Stone Creamery social media pages, we found some locations have offered a free scoop on Veterans Day, or a 10-50% military discount. However, most locations don’t advertise any military incentives.
How Does the Military Discount Work at Cold Stone Creamery?
Discount redemption varies by location. At participating stores, customers who qualify for a military discount can present a military ID or state-issued license showing veteran status.
Other Ways to Save at Cold Stone Creamery
If your Cold Stone Creamery location doesn’t offer a military discount, you can still save money.
