Walt Disney World’s military discount is one of the most generous theme park and travel discounts for U.S. military members and their families. In an effort to give back to those who serve, eligible service members can receive reduced pricing on theme park admission, photo passes, hotel & resort stays, and even nights at Shades of Green: Disney’s military-exclusive hotel.

While Disney’s Military Salute program certainly helps make a dent in the cost of a Disney World vacation, there are still several costs, terms, and exceptions you should be aware of before packing your bags.

Below is a complete guide to Walt Disney World military discounts for 2026, with practical guidance to help you choose the right tickets and lodging for your trip.

Walt Disney World Military Discounts Overview

Walt Disney World offers a wide range of discount offers for service members. Among these include reduced-priced theme park tickets, hotels & resorts, Memory Maker, and Shades of Green military hotel.

There is no military discount offered on parking, dining, merchandise, or other offerings.

Who is Eligible for Disney World Military Discounts?

Walt Disney World military discounts are available to most current and former U.S. service members, including the following groups:

  • Active-duty
  • Retirees
  • National Guard
  • Reservists
  • U.S. Coast Guard
  • U.S. Space Force
  • Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service
  • Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
  • Spouses of eligible military service members when they can present valid and active U.S. Military IDs

Valid ID is required to purchase, activate, and use these discounts.

Disney Military Salute Theme Park Tickets

Disney Military Salute tickets are discounted theme park admission tickets available in 4-day, 5-day, and 6-day options, along with the Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket, which allows extended access throughout 2026. All military tickets require advance theme park reservations for each day of entry.

For official details directly from Disney on pricing, eligibility, and how the Military Salute ticket program works, see Disney’s Military Multi-Day Tickets for 2026.

Disney World Military Ticket Options and Pricing

Multi-Day Military Salute Tickets are available for between 4 and 6 day lengths, and a Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket allows you a 1-year entry pass when booked in advance.

Ticket TypePark HopperPark Hopper Plus
4-Day Military Salute Ticket$409 + tax$439 + tax
5-Day Military Salute Ticket$429 + tax$459 + tax
6-Day Military Salute Ticket$449 + tax$479 + tax
Disney Celebrates America Ticket (year-pass)$499 + tax$529 + tax

These discounted prices are significantly lower than standard Disney World ticket pricing, especially for trips of four days or longer.

Park Hopper vs. Park Hopper Plus: What’s Included

When purchasing military discounted tickets, you must choose between a Park Hopper or Park Hopper Plus ticket:

Park Hopper allows you to visit more than one Disney World theme park per day.

Park Hopper Plus allows you to visit more than one theme park per day and includes a limited number of visits to Disney water parks, golf courses, or miniature golf locations based on ticket length.

Which Disney Military Ticket is Best for You?

For most families taking one Disney World trip, a 4-, 5-, or 6-Day Military Salute ticket offers the best value. These tickets cost less upfront and prevent you from paying for park days you are unlikely to use.

The Disney Celebrates America Military Ticket only makes sense if you plan multiple trips or expect to spend eight or more total park days in 2026. For single trips or shorter stays, it is usually more expensive than necessary.

For most military families visiting once, Military Salute tickets provide the best value, while the Celebrates America ticket only pays off with multiple trips or extended stays.

Additionally, Park Hopper Plus is only worth the added cost if you plan to visit water parks or golf at least twice, especially during summer travel. If you do not plan to use those extras, standard Park Hopper tickets provide better value.

Valid Dates and Blackout Periods for Military Tickets

Tickets purchased through the Disney World Military Salute Program are valid for visits with advance park reservation from January 1, 2026 through December 18, 2026. However, park reservations are subject to availability, and March 29 through April 11 and November 22 through November 28 are black out dates.

Where to Buy Disney Military Discount Tickets

Disney military discount tickets can be purchased through U.S. military base ticket offices, participating military sales outlets, Shades of Green Resort, Walt Disney World Resort ticket windows, and the Walt Disney World website.

Tickets purchased through military base ticket offices or Shades of Green are tax-free, while purchases made directly through Disney may include tax.

Disney notes that prices at individual base ticket offices may be lower than advertised, though discounts are not guaranteed and vary by location.

How Disney Military Ticket Redemption Works

Military Salute tickets purchased through base ticket offices are often issued as vouchers rather than physical tickets. These vouchers must be redeemed at an authorized Walt Disney World ticket window before park entry. Only the eligible service member or their spouse may redeem the vouchers and activate the tickets with valid military ID.

To avoid delays on park days, many guests choose to redeem and activate tickets the evening before their first visit.

Military Ticket Terms, Conditions, and Exclusions

Disney Military Salute tickets are non-transferable and must be used by the same individual for all park visits. Eligible service members or their spouses may purchase up to six discounted tickets per year, and at least one ticket must be used by the service member or spouse.

Tickets are valid only during designated date ranges, require advance park reservations, and cannot be used on blackout dates. These tickets do not include parking, dining, merchandise discounts, or Annual Passholder benefits.

Walt Disney World Military Hotel Discounts

Disney offers discounted room rates at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels for eligible military members and their spouses. The size of the discount depends on the resort category and the time of year you travel, with the largest savings typically available during the summer months. Details on participating resorts, travel windows, and official booking rules are available on Disney’s Military Hotel Discount page for 2026.

In general, Deluxe and Deluxe Villa resorts receive the highest military discounts, followed by Moderate resorts and then Value resorts. While discounts are available for much of the year, the percentage increases during peak summer travel.

Keep in mind that discounted rooms are limited, not all room types are eligible, and the military member or spouse must occupy the room and present valid military ID at check-in. These hotel discounts do not include theme park admission, which must be purchased separately.

Shades of Green: Disney’s Military-Only Resort

Shades of Green Resort

Orlando area hotels are typically very expensive. A good way to save money is to stay at the Shades of Green Resort, a military-owned resort located on Walt Disney World property. Shades of Green offers discounted room rates based on military pay grade and provides complimentary bus transportation to Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs. Transportation to some off-property Orlando attractions may be available for an additional fee.

My wife and I stayed at the Shades of Green Resort and found it to be the best of both worlds: very affordable and close to the Disney World action. Shades of Green is located adjacent to the Polynesian Resort, which is two Monorail stops from the Magic Kingdom. Guests can access Disney transportation, including buses to the Ticket and Transportation Center, making it easy to reach EPCOT and other parks.

We found Shades of Green to be a strong option for families looking to balance affordability with on-property convenience, offering multiple pools, dining options, recreation facilities, and easy access to Disney World golf courses. Eligibility is limited to qualifying military members, retirees, and authorized guests with valid military ID.

Shades of Green is often the best choice for longer stays or larger families, but availability can be limited during peak travel periods.
