The 2012 military budget was approved at the end of December, 2011. The result was a 1.6% pay raise for all ranks, effective January 1, 2012. The pay charts on this page reflect the final approved budget and include the 1.6% Cost of Living Adjustment. Note: To make these charts easier to read, we have rounded the pay rate to the nearest dollar.
These charts only include base pay, and do not include Basic Allowance for Subsistence (BAS), Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH), special duty pay, or other forms of military compensation. Your total pay and compensation with these additional benefits will vary based on your location and other factors.
You can use these military pay charts for reference, or for quick calculations. Because these numbers are rounded, you should visit the DFAS website for the official pay charts which reflect each pay rate to the exact cent. You will need those numbers for running official pay calculations. But these pay charts should work for most informal applications, such as estimating your monthly pay, your retirement pay, and similar activities.
